The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much

Hands of diverse religious shoot

I needed prayer but I was reluctant to reach out to my church family for prayer because reaching out to others can be a challenge for me. But I knew I didn’t want to deal with this situation alone in fear, denial or my own strength. I thought to myself if I had not shared my need for prayer, I would have missed the comfort and peace that comes from the power of prayer. As Believers we can stand in agreement and our agreement is a “weapon” against the devil (Matthew 18:19).

God is so good and faithful, and He uses people to help us get through tough situations. They encourage  us and help us not to give in to fear. If you are facing something that is rough don’t shut out your community of faith, reach out and ask them to pray, the Bible says bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).

As a person living with a disability challenge is part of my life. I struggled with my identity and I recognize that I still have insecurities to face, but that doesn't mean I can't walk in everything God has purposed me to walk in despite my insecurities. Because of the nature of my condition and physical disability, God's grace is evident in my life everyday and I find strength in the word of God that says in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through him who gives me power". (CJB).

  1. I’ve had those Sunday’s where I had to convince myself to go up for prayer. I was thankful when I did. I admit though there were some Sunday’s where I didn’t go but wanted to. Great reminder that there is power in our agreement during prayer. Thanks!

  2. Yes. We ought not to be ashamed to reach out for prayers. The Lord knows we all need prayers and so we need to pray for each other. I tried my best to pray for this blogging community every single day. I an so touch by each person’s testimony and their strong faith in God. Blessings to you.
